Zake Japanese Cuisine 2946 S. Shepherd Dr. Houston, TX 77098 Zake is a very stylish and contemporary restaurant that provides a lot of great fusion cooking. Inside, they have a restaurant section and a lounge section. This is a very cool place to get traditional sushi at the sushi bar while enjoying modern music and the surrounding setting. Zake has DJ spinning dance music every Friday and Saturday night so after you have your meals with your friend or your date, you can just enjoy your weekend night hanging out there. Zake is also a good place to meet a lot of young professionals, so if ever you want to try some place new, meet some new people or impress your date, this is the right place to go. Visit www.chinatownconnection.com/zake.htm to see photos and menus for this restaurant.

I been to this restaurant and it is very fusion and hip. The interior looks very futuristic and the lounge is a very nice touch. Food is awesome and so is happy hour. I definitely recommend this place to everyone.

I ate at Zake Japanese Cuisine yesterday and I liked the contemporary/fusion restaurant layout. After reading them on Houston Chinese Restaurants Guide, a really good source for Asian dining in Houston, I decided to venture out and check out this place. They have both a restaurant section and a lounge section. I have never quite seen anything like it because it has a bit of club feel to it. Zake has DJ spinning dance music every Friday and Saturday night too. Zake is also a good place to meet a lot of young professionals. I like their sushi alot. Definitely A+ in my opinion.

Just want to share my experience at Zake. This place is very good. There sushi is incredible and the atmosphere is rockin. It is a fusion restaurant and for those who don't know what that means, it is a blend of lounge, upscale, and hip restaurant. They have DJ's playing every weekend too.

I love this place. Went to Zake this past weekend and boy was it rockin. They have dj's come out for the weekends and mix that with awesome Japanese food and sushi and you have a winning combination.

Great atmosphere and great sushi. If you have never been to a Japanese fusion-lounge restaurant, this is the place to visit.

Great atmosphere and great sushi. If you have never been to a Japanese fusion-lounge restaurant, this is the place to visit. This place was packed when I went. Lots of younger generation working professionals. A good way of meeting hot girls!

Zake has a trendy interior and euro-flavor music on its speakers. A good place to unwind for happy hour with your co-workers. The sushi is average and priced reasonably, best to go with the Special Rolls which have more flavor and presentation. The service was average; it was early in the evening and there were few patrons to test the mettle of the server

This place was the biggest dissapointment ever! I read the reviews on here expecting a trendy restaurant with great food and a fun atmosphere. The place looks trendy, but the service was the WORST I have seen in Houston. I made a reservation for 8 people and was told that if anyone in my party was more than 15 mins late, our table would be given to someone else because they are SOOOO busy on Saturday nights. We all got there on time, and our table was not ready. They expected us to wait for another couple to finish having dinner before they would put our table together, and there was no one else waiting to sit down, not busy AT ALL! We waited for a few mins in the bar and ordered drinks, but only half of them were actually delivered to us, and some were only half full. We had to beg the hostess to get us a table in another part of the restaurant, but she refused because she had "alot of other reservations coming". But we were already there! We sat down about 40 mins AFTER our reservation time, and the food was just ok. Ra and Azuma are MUCH better for good sushi and service. The people here just DO NOT care about you. When we asked for 6 sthingys to share a dessert, she brought 2. UGH! I hated this place and will never come back. There is no excuse for service this horrible.
