Pluses: Decent noodle dishes, "mein dishes", price
Negatives: Service
This place is ok to my standards. With so much competition in Chinatown, I expected places like this to be more accomodating and better because it is one of the more well known stores here. Overall it was an ok experience.

I think San Dong has some competition in regards to being one of the more famous noodle places in Chinatown. I like that new place FuFu's. They have some really good noodle dishes as well.

Not bad place for some authentic chinese. Dumplings are what they're know for. Very small restaurant. Prices are cheap. Located on Bellaire and Beltway 8 in shopping center where Jasmine restaurant(formerly Ba Ky) is located.

This place is not too bad. They are known for their noodles and dumplings. I had the dumplings and it was pretty good. The only thing I did not like was there service, or a lack of. At least put on a smile when you greet the customers.

I don't like this place. The lady behind the counter looks like she wants to kill someone. I walked up to place my order and nothing but a grouchy look, no smile at all, and just rude attitude.
BAD SERVICE!

I once took a dish from the fridge, where they put all the handmade dishes in, and sat down. Man, the lady behind the counter yelled at me asking if I paid for it.. Of course I am going to pay for it. I was just putting it down on the table. So yes to the previous reply, the service and attitude is terrible!

I agree with the people posted above about service, very very poor. The lady behind the counter actually yelled at me when I asked a question. Anyways, the food is good, but service is terrible.

My friends have always mentioned that San Dong gets robbed alot. They say that robbers go inside and rob everyone in the store. True or not, I don't know. I don't see or hear it on the news so...

My first review here on the board so here it goes...
I went to place because a friend of mine said it was the best noodle/dumpling place in Chinatown. I have to agree the wonton noodle soup I ordered was very good.
But here is the bad: the service is terrible and the wait is horrendous. I waited 20 minutes for a table to open up and they messed up my order after waiting another 20 minutes for the food to come. So about an hour passed before I began to eat.
If you like to wait, this is the place to go. Otherwise, there are other good noodle / dumpling restaurants in Chinatown.
