As most of yall know, our number 8 pick was Rudy Gay. Then we traded him to Memphis along with Swift for Shane Battier.
Personally, I think it was a poor pick, and even poorer decision. First off, we need offensive minded players, shooters! We could not score jack last season, and we could not hit a shot if our lives depended on it. So why would you not choose a pure shooter (ie Redthingy) to complement Yao and T-Mac. You know they are going to be double and tripled team.
Secondly, why would you trade your 8th pick w/ Swift for Battier? He is an ok player but not what the Rockets need. We need a scorer, a shooter.
I guess Houston's sports team all follow one simple trail.. stupidity and braindead decisions. Like the Texans and the Astros, the Rockets are no different. Thanks for making Houston look so stupid.

I think Shane Battier is a proven player. Very consistent, not a real scorer, but a hard-nose player. Yeah we need athleticism, but you can't go wrong with a hard-nose player.
