Here is why you should not go here for grocery shopping:
1. Terrible parking 2. Interior looks like it is about to collapse (very dirty) 3. Crowded - my heels got hit about 5 times by carts 4. More like a flea market then a grocery store.. merchandise all over the place blocking walking areas... 5. waited 20 minutes in line to checkout 6. so d**n crowded 7. could not get out of the parking lot cuz to many cars circling around and waiting for parking spots
There are other Chinese supermarkets to go to: Dun Hunag Supermarket, Golden Foods Supermarket that offer better parking, bigger stores, more walkable areas!!, and faster checkouts.

I always go to Golden Foods.. their produce are fresh, their prices are low, and big parking lot.

I think the three worst supermarkets in Chinatown are Diho, Dynasty (yeah pretty ..nasty), and Welcome (aka 99). These place are smelly and filthy inside.

The three u412 named above are also the very first Chinese supermarkets in the Bellaire area. I personally don't visit them anymore (moved out of the area years ago) but I'd like to see them renovated or something. It would seem like such a shame if they closed down.
If you want to avoid crowds in Chinatown, don't go there, period, on the weekends. That entire Bellaire section is stop-and-go traffic. It's miserable. I only stop by during off-peak hours like 10AM on a Tuesday.
But I have a student's schedule. :)

I agree with you.. Chinatown is getting pretty darn crowded on the weekends. They need to widen Bellaire Blvd and also put a stoplight on Bellaire and the entrance to Dun Huang Plaza and Golden Foods Plaza. That place is always a traffic accident waiting to happen.
