Did yall see the article in the Houston Chronicle about Houston Chinatown or Asia Town?? That article is wrong about many points including where Chinatown is located.. Also what the heck is Asia Town? Just doesn't sound right.

I saw that article.. The one thing that really caught my attention is how they drew the map that incorporated Chinatown. It is wrong. I think the Vietnamese community will find it offensive to be considered part of Chinatown. btw- here is a correct map of Houston Chinatown: www.chinatownconnection.com/houston-chinatown-map.htm

Being a native Houstonian of 35 years, I've seen huge transformations in Houston, especially in Chinatown. Bellaire blvd use to be a quiet street with a Chinese shopping center, Diho I believe. Now it is congested with traffic on the weekends and filled with 5-6 different shopping strip centers with a Chinese grocery store anchoring each one. Wow how times have changed!

So, Chinatown is not on Bellaire, but a block of two south of Baillaire as located on the above link to the map???

Chinatown encompasses an area from Bellaire to Harwin, beltway 8 to Gessner. Outside of this area is like an international district since you have Vietmanese and South Asian shops and restaurants.
