I heard many things from my friends regarding Tan Tan in Chinatown. What are your thoughts of this place?

This place is ok. Nothing special. Dishes are a bit overpriced IMHO.

This was one of the first place to open in New Chinatown. They have great firecracker/performances during Chinese New Year. Food is ok but the place looks kind of old.

I stopped eating there for the longest time. The only thing that I ever go back for the the Bot Chien (fried flour with eggs). the food is okay..a bit on the oily side. If you want variety and fast service, definitely go there. I think the appeal has always been fast, hot, and a place to eat late at night.
The restaurant has been around since the 80's and they did the right thing on updating the restaurant. Actually, I remember why I didn't eat there. it was because they didn't accept credit cards back then and they were just racking in all the cash. If memory recall, the last time I ate there they did accept credit cards.
As for service, they have A LOT of servers with earpieces to communicate with each other.
Would I go back there? Sure! I sometimes crave the Bot chien!

I thought the food was good most of the time. If the main chef does the cook, it will be good. Though I have encountered a meal or two where the flavor was off.
The menu is cool with pictures, english, and chinese.
Staff is quick and professional.
Does anyone notice the Lucy Lui look-a-like waitress?
